Have you ever noticed when you were super upset about something...I mean really pissed off...and you said or did things that you deeply regretted in the days that followed?

Yea...I can honestly tell you I am guilty of losing my patience; however, those hot moments that threw me into a frenzy, are few and far between these days...thank goodness for that!

To begin, if you find yourself in a situation with a confrontational person in your life...it helps to have empathy towards them. Empathy will help you understand the "Why."

When you have a better understanding of why people said or did what they did...you will be more apt to step back and look at the situation with clearer and more forgiving eyes.

Of course there are times when having Empathy helps, but it is not the end all be all... since some difficult people... are who they are out in public and you will not have the ability to know anything about them, so as to help you understand their "why" but what you can do, is give them the benefit of the doubt or excuses like...maybe they don't' feel good...or maybe the day prior to the difficult moment was just plain horrible for them. Giving others some Grace for their actions is something that has helped me stay calm in stormy situations.

It is a fact that life for All of us can be very tough at times...almost unbearable...and it's important to remember that! Every one of us has a story to tell...we all experience terrible days mixed in with the beautiful, extraordinary days...so it just makes sense to be kind! Kindness to a hurting heart is medicine for the soul...and it's free to give!

We are all in this life together trying to find our way...trying to figure things out, so why not be helpful whenever possible?!

It is never a good idea to add fuel to the fire... so to speak. Of course, wanting to stay at peace does not mean you become a rug for people to walk on...itś the opposite, speaking respectfully, calmly with clarity gives you the upper hand and the bonus?...is having no regrets of your actions or spoken words afterwards. What is important however, is you need to get to a point where you trust that you can assert yourself when it is needed and then do it... when necessary.

Unfortunately, there will always be people who seem to thrive on drama and on most days can be confrontational ...you know...those kinds of people you would love to just give em a throat punch! But don't' do it! Do use your Superpower and Stay Calm, Cool and Collected 😊

I stand by these wise words spoken to me by Dolores my Puerto Rican Mama..."My Dear, Don chew pay to mush attention to them people, just Bless them" Oh how I LOVE that woman!

When I'm at work, I strive to stay calm when issues arise. I believe my ability to think outside the box and to come up with solutions...well they happen more organically when I stay mindful. The creativity juices flow more freely when my mind is at peace. Staying calm enables me to meet complex situations as they arise without feeling like the sky is falling.

Remember, the energy we give out to the world is more positive when we are in a peaceful state of mind. Have you ever noticed how you feel around people who are constantly negative, always complaining about this or that...who are continuously speaking unkindly? I have...and you know what? They make me feel gloomy and anxious. Honestly, most people are more drawn to positive energy...they want a piece of that happiness pie too!

There is a silent understanding within good, ethical people...which is... it's important to never seek to make others look small, less than or insufficient. Remember...WE.ARE.ALL.CONNECTED.BY.THE.SPIRIT.WITHIN.US

Typically, people with calm demeanors have Faith in God (or the Universe) ...and speaking from my own experience, throughout my entire life I have leaned on this divine spiritual belief system that has taught me about humanity's interconnectedness.

I have this knowing that all is as it should be, and I find peace in embracing that thought...

So, my friends...embracing calmness is truly a Superpower! So be sure to use it!

I want to leave you with a couple more quotes from Alan Watts...I hope you enjoy them.

"You don't' look out there for God, something in the sky, you look in you"

"Individual differences express the unity, as branches, leaves, and flowers from the same plant, and the love between the members is the realization of their basic interdependence."

"No amount of anxiety makes any difference to anything that is going to happen"

"The attitude of Faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be."

~Alan Watts

Until next time, I hope you...

Choose Faith...and Always Love...xo
