My Sweet and Loyal Yoshi

So, as Yoshi and I headed out the door to go for a walk by Jonahs's tree and bench...I told my husband Don that after our walk I would stop and grab a pizza for dinner. "Sounds good" he replied and off we went.

Well, as we are coming back around the pond on the last stretch of our walk, I get on my phone to order the pizza...as I begin to place the order, I see what looks like a human body laying halfway up the hill, no shirt on, head facing downwards! "Oh my gosh! I think there's a dead body!" I gasped to the lady on the phone who just wants to take my pizza order!

She replies, "What?! Where are you?! What are you talking about?!" shaken up I reply, "I'm at a park walking my dog and it looks like there is a dead body lying in the weeds!" ...so, I yell out to the person lying motionless "Hey!!! Hey you!!" I yelled a few times...with no response...only crickets...the pizza lady is now asking me, "do you still want to order your pizza?"...I respond "ummmm yes, if something changes, I will let you know...I think I need to call the police!" at which point I say goodbye and hang up with her.

I was afraid to walk up by this body to see for myself, for fear they were really dead and now I would have to live with whatever I saw for the rest of my life...

I continue to yell at the person as they lay lifelessly, taking a picture with my phone, I sent it to my husband then called him in a bit of a frenzy...after he looked at the picture, he said "call 911!"

After I called 911, I continue yelling out a few more times to what I thought was a "dead person" hoping I was wrong, but what my eyes were seeing was not good...just as a police squad car started to pull up...this dead body stirs in the weeds and stands up!

I was so shaken and started yelling at the young man..."What the hec are you doing up there?!? I thought you were dead! You scared me! I called the police; they are pulling up right now! Why didn't you answer me when I was yelling at you?! I pleaded.

The young man responded "I'm sorry I scared you... I was praying" Oh man, he couldn't find a more secluded space to pray I thought...big dummy...

I now approach the officer letting him know the person I thought was dead...just stood up! I am so over this situation...drained with up and down emotions...I ask the officer if I could leave and he kindly said yes after asking the young man to please come down the hill so he could speak to him...phew!

Off to get the pizza I go... which, when I picked it up it turns out to be the same gal at the counter who was on the phone when I placed the order...she says, "What happened?!" I tell her, "The guy stood up just as the police arrived and he said he was praying!" Yes, I was mad and glad at the same time...mad he did not respond to me... yet glad the young man was just fine...

Then this past Mother's Day, Yoshi and I were coming back from a different walk around the pond when we spotted a visitor sitting on Jonah's bench. It was an older Indian gentleman...I stopped to say "Hi" letting him know that the bench he was sitting on was put there in honor of my son who had passed away. He said he came here often and loved sitting on the bench. He seemed very excited to meet me and actually called me "the mom of the bench"

We had a very nice conversation; I shared with him about my book I had written...he then asked me if he could take a video of me...like an interview type thing...I thought why not... how could that be harmful. I have attached that video he took at the bottom of this Blog.

This special place seems to be a place where I continue to meet people and have encounters to share with you all...my Jonah was such a social butterfly, and I feel he definitely plays a part in these interactions I have at his bench...and he was probably laughing at me regarding the so called "dead person"...LOL

Until next time, I hope you...

Choose Faith...and Always Love...xo
