Labels...Really?...Why?...

I have a true problem with labels. OK...well it is not really a problem but a real dislike of them. I do understand that of course, there are necessary labels, however it feels like humans feel the need to put a label on everything!

For some, I imagine it makes them feel included, part of a team so to speak. But what I have an issue with, when a certain label is applied to me or whoever...in my humble opinion ...it puts that person in a box with that label on it! Which then creates possible judgments towards this person.

An example of the point I am trying to make is, I believe in God and I believe that Jesus walked among us. Teaching all of us how to live in peace and love...sharing his love for God as well as the power of God...the Holy Spirit. This my dear friends... is the light which resides within All of us.

What I am going to write next may be hard for some to read...but here it goes...the label of being a Christian does not feel right to me. I am a believer, however, I am so much more than that. One example is that I also believe Buddha walked the earth helping others find happiness within themselves. He directed humans towards enlightenment with his teachings.

Some wise words he so often spoke on were...Live in the Present...Truth is Powerful...Think Positive...Do Not Give Up...Walk Alone...Never Use Harsh Words...Your Body is Your Asset...Practice Mindfulness...His last words on the evening Buddha died were "Be a lamp unto yourself"

Now, I do not want to be labeled a Buddhist either, but Buddhas words resonate with me. So you see...some people stick within the "Label" they have given themselves and refuse to step outside the box they have put themselves into. I feel by boxing yourself into and under a certain "Label" you confine your mind also! Which in turn limits critical thinking! Again...my humble opinion :)

The Buddha says "Consider others as yourself" Jesus says "Do to others as you would have them do to you"

Choose Faith...and Always Love
