"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"...remember the character in the movie The Shining?! The movie character named Jack, wrote that phrase repeatedly, which then highlighted his descent into total madness...
Having a good work ethic is advantageous yet maintaining a balance between work and play is important...
Our lives are meant to be lived and loved. If the job you hold brings you joy, well now... what a wonderful Blessing that is! But not everyone is able to say they enjoy their job. In situations such as this, having some fun outside of work is a Must Do so do it!
Actually, life is a constant balancing act...all play and no work is not a good thing either! Finding what works best for ourselves, that custom fit balanced life leads us to being happy people with joyful souls.
Of course, the fun changes as we age...in my younger days I loved being on the go, always surrounded by lots of people...well... that is no longer the case. My circle of friends has shrunk tremendously. The quality of my friendships verses the quantity is way more important to me now...and staying home in my own quiet space is just fine with me.
These days, I thoroughly love being by myself, reading, writing, listening to intelligent peoples' videos/podcasts about the spiritual side of life and beyond.
A few of my other favorite things to do is spending time walking with my dog "Ÿoshi." Hanging out with my little family (playing Scrabble) ...visiting my lovely mentor Dolores...belly laughing with a loved one ...these are just a few things that make my heart feel fully alive.

I believe everything in life should be embraced with moderation...the results will be a life filled with balance.
Even things that are good for us should be done in moderation...I knew a woman years ago, who was an avid runner...the problem with that..is she became obsessed with running. Her mind was overtaken by what was supposed to be good for her...yet it turned into a negative influence because of how imbalanced her life became. Everything she did or planned evolved around her running!
Something I find fascinating is my Faith in God...it seems to grow stronger with each passing year. It truly has become a solid foundation for me...a positive anchor in my life...that is always present. This steady, beautiful light energy which is within all of us... is the Holy Spirit.
Each morning, I imagine and try to embrace the understanding...that every little thing is gonna be alright...because God's got me!
Again, keeping that balance of living in a mindful, kind way towards myself and others...you know... trying to live just a tiny bit how Jesus lived...but also standing firm and tall in the world so I can relate to others...for me the goal is to help others whenever I am able to.
How can I be a light for others if I am not relatable? If my head is buried in the clouds all the time...only speaking about my thoughts on God...well, I certainly do not want to drive people away from hearing what I have to say...and my intent is always to help not harm.
It is actually impossible for me to be dismissive regarding God...do you know why? It is because I can honestly feel his presence in almost everything I do.
Staying balanced...keeping my feet firmly planted...and yes, I will always speak clearly from my heart with honesty ..so, if my words do not resonate with you...no worries, no judgement! You be you and Iĺl be me!
Living a stress-free life would be amazing wouldn't it!?! However, stress does seem to be one of those things which none of us can escape from. That is just how life operates...we all have highs, and we all have lows...I guess if we were constantly riding the waves of joy and happiness, we wouldn't even be aware we were happy because we had not experienced any lows and would have nothing to compare our highs to.
It is important that we effectively handle it, especially since we know how stress can cause health issues if it goes unattended.
Most important is paying attention and listening to what our bodies are telling us... you know we have very smart bodies and amazing brain power!
If you feel something is out of whack...or...unbalanced...only you can do something about it...so figure it out and take care of yourself!
Slow down and think about what could be causing your stress...if you cannot do it on your own, hopefully you have that one friend or family member who you trust, who loves you unconditionally, who understands you and you're comfortable confiding in them with pure honesty... Instead of stuffing your feelings down deep...Sometimes just talking about what you are feeling, getting another's perspective can make a world of difference...you know that communication thing! Sharing can be wonderful medicine for your soul.
Of course, use common sense, if there is a medical issue that needs a professional's attention...please follow your instincts and do what you have to do.
Until next time...stay balanced in your life and I hope you...
Choose Faith...and Always Love...xo
Brenda
